Felicia Day is great as Penny, but she’s also kind of the actress version of Jonathan Coulton – using the internet to promote her work. Her website is a great launchpad for all her various internet presences.
Like Jonathan Coulton, she’s got the nerd chic thing going for her (plus she’s cute), and she’s very good at what she does.
She’s got (as in she writes) a web series called The Guild, and she uses YouTube to distribute it. Free distribution – very smart. It’s also available as a (free) podcast on iTunes – so of course, they’re downloading to my AppleTV right now. And as a DVD with lots of extra features.
